Kinkell Byre is an ideal wedding or event venue, converted from existing Byres (cow sheds) and Barns at Kinkell Farm, just outside St Andrews. Our venue is a highly flexible space, with a series of interlinked spaces that can be adapted for your event.
WE DON'T CHARGE CORKAGE
Bring your favourite wine and fizz and enjoy your day the way you want it.
We don't believe in charging you extra for wines and fizz you've already bought, so you don't need to worry about any extra corkage charges coming from us.
CHOOSE
YOUR OWN SUPPLIERS
Freedom of choice is something we advocate strongly here at Kinkell Byre.
You shouldn't have to sacrifice your dream caterer to get your dream venue - so we don't tell you who to use. The only people that we ask you to use are our lighting and bar supplier, as they have bespoke equipment for our space. If you are looking for ideas, we have a list of recommended suppliers who we have worked with often and regard as part of the team. If you are still looking for ideas we also have a list of other suppliers.
FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE...
As an event venue we can be as hands off or as hands on as you like.
We provide a blank canvas venue, but we also offer optional hire of tables, chairs, and Chesterfield sofas directly from Kinkell Byre. Or if you love the venue but don't want the blank canvas option, we can organise a full wedding package on request.

Set on the coast 2 miles from St Andrews, Scotland, Kinkell Byre has hosted a wide variety of events from 40 to 2000 guests. For dinner, we can seat up to 450 guests, and we have the capacity for 1200 people for a ball, although the venue is flexible enough to increase the capacity to 2000 people with the addition of marquees in our dedicated areas. The average size of weddings is around 100 - 120 people, and our versatile venue is very comfortable with this number, with separate areas for each part of the day.

A unique wedding barn venue, Kinkell Byre is the former cow shed on Kinkell Farm, which runs down to the sea and at one time extended to the town. The original sections of the barns were built in the mid-1700’s with stone from the ruins of Kinkell Castle, which stood on the coast near the current Castle Course Clubhouse.
